The
Legrand ‘Getting Closer’ GCC tour, which originated in Muscat in
April this year, made its fourth stop in Abu Dhabi, drawing
investors, consultants, contractors and electrical retailers to
the event that showcased the company’s full range of products
and systems for the construction and industrial sectors,
including power protection and distribution, wiring accessories,
cable management, structured cabling, lighting control and home
automation with In One By Legrand.Electrical products and systems giant, Legrand, has over the years been successfully involved in a host of high-profiles projects in the region, including Armada Towers, Oceana Towers, Ibn Battuta Gate, Saba Towers and Arabian Ranches and projects in Abu Dhabi including Capitol Plaza, Between Two Bridges Hotels and Furnished apartments.
The booming construction sector in recent years has further propelled the growth of Legrand within the Gulf region, leading to the opening of a number of dedicated Legrand customer services centres to support the expansion of its operations.
“In Legrand’s 25-year history in the region, we have had the privilege of contributing to the development of some of the most remarkable projects here. In the last two years Legrand’s sales in the Gulf Countries have increased 70 per cent,” said Legrand Middle East general manager Mohammed Ahmed-Yahia.
The Legrand ‘Getting Closer’ tour, he added, aims at building a better understanding of the company, its products and systems in the areas that it operates in.
The tour also took in Doha in April and Kuwait City in May, before Abu Dhabi, where a gathering of over 200 professionals highlighted the strength of the company’s 25-year cooperation with its local distributor Electra Abu Dhabi.
“The
potential in the regional market, especially in the construction
sector, is unbelievable and we see our products increasingly
meeting local demand,” said Youssef Farid, area manager, Legrand.“Legrand is focused on increasing market trust in the brand and will push forward with this through greater customer interaction at various levels.”
In 1996 Legrand established its Dubai office in the flourishing Jebel Ali Free Zone.
The office today oversees the company's operations in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman.
The establishment of Legrand Customer Centres in the emirates and other parts of the GCC makes the company strategically placed to capitalise on the projected regional demand for electrical products and systems.
Legrand, which works regionally through authorised distributors, is also working to reinforce its network of sub-dealers, as well as specialised installers for structured cabling and Intercom, System Integrators for Home automation and lighting control solutions and panel builders for switchgear products.
Legrand is the world specialist in systems for electrical installations and information networks in residential and commercial buildings and in industry.
The Legrand group's net sales for the year 2005 amounted to €3,248 million.
The company offers a total of 130,000 items, grouped into 80 product families.
